MINNESOTA CONTINUING EDUCATION, Inc (MNCEI)

Code Books

Minnesota Continuing Education’s (MNCEI) mission is to “help you comply with the code”, using classes and code books.  We strongly believe that if we all understand the requirements of the code and work together to achieve compliance, then corrections, errors, and costs will be reduced as a result.

To that end, we have developed code & statute-based continuing education classes that help you comply with the code, whether you are a Building Official, Building Contractor, Manufactured Home Installer, Remodeler, Building Inspector or Roofer.

In addition, we are an International Code Council reseller of code books. These code books cover Building Code Minnesota Residential Code, Fuel Gas Code, Mechanical Code, Accessibility Code, Fire Code, Energy Code, Mechanical Code and Conservation Code for Existing Buildings.

The entire MN code book library is available for purchase at reduced rates with shipping included.

2020 MINNESOTA STATE BUILDING CODES (CODE BOOK REQUIREMENTS)

The 2020 Minnesota State Building Code is effective March 31, 2020, except for the Minnesota Mechanical Fuel Gas Code, which is effective April 6, 2020.

It is the minimum construction standard throughout all of Minnesota. Although it is not enforceable by municipalities unless it is adopted by local ordinance, it creates a level playing field for the construction industry by establishing the Minnesota State Building Code as the standard for the construction of all buildings in the state.
